Universidad de Ingeniería & Tecnología launches its first invitation and will be in effect until September 15th. From now on, entrepreneurs with projects where engineering and technology are essential components for their business will find the backing they need thanks to UTEC Ventures, the new and unique accelerator which seeks to generate and accelerate innovation in technology-based ventures having high growth potential, providing them with services that include an investment amount of up to US$32 thousand each.As part of its commitment to the development of learning, innovation and entrepreneurship in Peru, Universidad de Ingeniería & Tecnología in Peru has recently launched UTEC Ventures, and in its first initiative announced that its invitation will remain open until September 15th to select candidate projects."Peru is an entrepreneurial country and in order to drive technology related projects, UTEC has made a commitment to select projects and provide tools and funding. We seek prototypes and ideas that can be worked on by a multi-disciplinary team with access to a network of technical consultants, teachers and researchers from UTEC and TECSUP” said Gonzalo Villarán, Managing Director of UTEC Ventures.He adds that "The startups selected will be provided with work space for the six month duration of the acceleration program, to be shared with other teams of entrepreneurs. During this period, they will receive technical advice and support to refine their business proposals, build a functional prototype of the product or service and then go out to search for the necessary support to present their concepts to investors on Demo Day at the end of the program".Meanwhile, UTEC Ventures will coordinate connections to networks and financing in Peru and abroad, with a network of consultants and decentralized locations. By having established being an open platform as one of its pillars, UTEC joins other esteemed international and domestic academic institutions in driving this initiative.
