Many of the important discoveries that have changed the world have been the result of dedicated and committed work. Hence, it is important to train innovative and creative engineers. For Universidad de Ingeniería & Tecnología (UTEC) research is a fundamental step in solving the problems of the future. Therefore, its research activities address different issues. They focus on energy, water, and environment issues, as well as on development projects in materials, information technology, and mechanical and mechatronic systems. In order to do so, active learning methods are used and participation is encouraged in transdisciplinary projects in collaboration with leading national and international research institutions.
