UTEC signs two important agreements with Chinese universities

UTEC’s Energy Engineering department led the way to the signing of two agreements with very important universities from China. These are the Tsinghua University in Beijing, ranked number 1 university in China and 25th in the world according to the 2018 QS ranking, and the Huazhong University of Science and Technology – HUST in Wuhan. Both agreements are initially for a five-year period and will focus in exchanging students and academic research teams as well as in research programs that would benefit the cultural exchange between the two countries. 

The joint research subjects will be related to power systems analysis, HVDC, high voltage isolations, electronic machines, power electronics and other subjects related to Smart Grid, internet of energy, environment, thermic energy, energy efficiency and energy to gas conversion. The goal of these projects is to be internationally SCI published so they can try to get Chinese and internationally funded.

“Relations with China are very important to us, especially because of their research, product development, innovation and cultural approach. That’s why it will be both enriching and our main priority to establish an international academic mobility dynamic for our students” said Julien Noel, Head of UTEC’s Energy Engineering and Mechanical Engineering programs.
