At the end of April, UTEC signed an agreement with École Centrale de Marseille, a major French school, part of the Groupe des Écoles Centrales, which brings together five major engineering schools: CentraleSupélec (Paris), École centrale de Lille (Lile) , École Centrale de Lyon (Lyon), École centrale de Marseille (Marseille) École centrale de Nantes (Nantes).
The École Centrales confer academic degrees to almost 1,500 engineers per year and produce 12% of the research carried out by French engineering institutes. The École Centrale de Marseille forms generalist and excellent engineers, with an innovative spirit and sense of responsibility, as well as having a strong international projection that prepares them to be leaders in France and in the world.
The agreement with UTEC will allow students from both institutions to conduct research stays through collaboration with professors in various projects. ''UTEC allows me to have a different vision and gives me the opportunity to learn from another culture. This opportunity helps me grow professionally and personally," says Romain Portet, a French student who is currently doing a research stay led by the professor and coordinator of the Chemical Engineering department at UTEC, Dr. Gustavo H. Lopes, who is also a graduate of this same school.
We are proud of this agreement and expectant of the fruits it will give. If you want to know more about the École Centrale de Marseille, you can check its website here.
