He began working for one of Thomas Alva Edison’s companies. That same year Tesla conceived the induction motor.

Edison and Tesla were embroiled in a battle known as the ‘War of the Currents’. Both inventors defended the use of two different types of current.

He arrived in New York where he worked for Thomas Alva Edison.
Edison wanted to electrify the entire United States with his DC. Tesla did not agree.
