Juan Inchaústegui receives the 2014 Order of Peruvian Engineering Award

As part of the 52nd Anniversary of the Colegio de Ingenieros del Perú [Peruvian Engineers Association] and festivities organized for "Engineering Week", Juan Inchaústegui, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Universidad de Ingeniería & Tecnología (UTEC), was the recipient of the 2014 Order of Peruvian Engineering Award, for his outstanding professional and institutional contributions on behalf of the development of Peru.   The Order of Peruvian Engineering is the highest honor bestowed by the Peruvian Engineering Association upon those professionals who stand out year after year in the advancement this profession. "I am honored to receive an award of this nature, because it acknowledges the important work that we have as engineers.  Being that engineering is an essential factor for the development and exploitation of natural resources in Peru, this profession contains a sense of a real vocation for service,  that enables the country to undergo transformation, said Juan Inchaústegui, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Universidad de Ingeniería & Tecnología (UTEC).He added that the fact that engineering is a profession that seeks to transform the country, makes it imperative to offer the highest level of education to young Peruvians because they carry Peru’s future in their hands and this is the reason why UTEC was founded. "UTEC is a major project that seeks to offer the highest quality education to engineers at a world class professional level, where the young students are able to realize the transformation of Peru and drive development based on the country’s resources, by developing their own capacities”, he said.About Juan Incháustegui: Juan Incháustegui is an Mechanical Electrical Engineer, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Universidad de Ingeniería & Tecnología (UTEC), Chairman of Instituto Superior Tecnológico (TECSUP), Chairman of Hochschild Mining Perú, Director and Consultant of Cementos Pacasmayo S.A.A, he is the recipient of the Orden del Sol (Peruvian award given to people in fields such as the arts, literatura, culture and politics) and he received the Palmas Magisteriales award in 2012, the highest award bestowed by the Peruvian government to people who have contributed to the advancement of education, science, culture and technology in the country. About Universidad de Ingeniería & Tecnología:Universidad de Ingeniería & Tecnología is the university educational model in the sciences, conceived by the most eminent businessmen in the country for the purpose of shaping future management engineers of the business world.
