The selected proposals were graphically reinterpreted by industrial designers and voting will open on September 3rd.After a tough assessment of the proposals submitted to the first interschool ingenuity contest "Lo InimaginablePosible", an initiative of Universidad de Ingeniería & Tecnología (UTEC), the jury chose 18 project finalists, which were graphically reinterpreted at a meeting held with industrial designers.Freshmen to senior year high school student finalists met at the Santa Anita campus, where together with the team of industrial designers invited by UTEC, they proceeded to graphically reinterpret the projects into bi-dimensional models, enabling students to explain the merits of their projects and to give arguments regarding the importance and impact that each of them will have when put into operation.Among finalist projects were the microscope for telephones, a high magnification lens capable of capturing photos and video images and docked into a cell phone; a beach alarm that serves to curtail pollution; the room that enables cell phones to be recharged through physical exercise, transforming mechanical energy into electric energy; the thermal-solar energy plant that produces electric power, particularly effective for high temperature desert regions; the writing on air system that enables one to write, trace and draw using wireless gestures.In addition, there is the glass that is capable of purifying any type of water for human consumption; the mechanism attachable to a gas tank to determine its capacity and yield; the system that enables one to reuse bath shower water for toilet flushing and the pen that knows no boundaries in terms of colors or artistic types, can become a highlighter, a felt marker and other types.Vote for your favorite at www.loinimaginableposible.com starting on September 3rd, 2014.
