UTEC launched its Repsol Professorship to reflect and debate on energy and sustainable development

It’s an evident fact that recently graduated professionals are required to have many skills and abilities. Also, young generations and future professionals must be aware of what both the market and society demands from them.

In order to provide students with such skills UTEC and Repsol have joined forces to further their knowledge in matters related to energy and both global and Peruvian sustainability. This important initiative is led by the Energy Engineering and Mechanical Engineering programs and will have Repsol’s business directors as lecturers on its first year.

“This is a very promising industry and university collaboration project that has come to be thanks to the commitment of professional teams from both institutions. These are very experienced professionals and are very much committed into providing entrepreneurs, innovators and talented individuals with the support they need” - José Luis Ibarra, Head of Repsol’s Communications and External Relations Department.

This professorship seeks to build a productive system, to foster innovation and help talent develop in order to grow the employability in a competitive and technological economy.

“UTEC and Repsol’s similar views in matters of sustainability is fundamental for the students, because it will help them amplify their understanding of the fossil fuel business, both locally and internationally” Julian Noel, Head of the Energy Engineering and Mechanical Engineering programs at UTEC.

The inauguration will take place on April the 4th and during all 2018 the university will hold seminars on subjects related to refining, distribution and Marketing in the fossil fuel energy sector.
