UTEC organized a conference with a specialist from the Scientific Research Department from the United States Air Force.

Dr. Brett Pokines, Program Officer from the Scientific Research Department of the U.S. Air Force, was in our country and met with teachers from Universidad de Ingeniería & Tecnología (UTEC) in a conference in which he gave a presentation about the latest technology that his department plans, coordinates and executes for the AFRL (Air Force Research Laboratory) of the US Air Force.The conference discusses various topics ranging from the investment in science to the mechanisms needed to create societies with university scientists.  All of this took place within the framework of a series of training seminars that the University organized for its teaching staff.  In this way, UTEC continues to establish ties with the most important organizations and opinion leaders from the scientific world, and update and reinforce the knowledge of their researchers.AFOSR (Air Force Office of Scientific Research), as the Department of Scientific Research that Pokines works at is called, has established agreements with universities in different countries and has been establishing research teams globally.  Its objective is to create a network that gives drive to a scientific revolution that would act as a magnet to capture the best talent among students and researchers. "AFOSR has set up different international agreements with universities where the main objective is to focus on research with teams from different countries to create a scientific revolution.  AFOSR invests and creates mechanisms to establish agreements with universities that want to innovate in science and technology in cities such Santiago, Arlington, London and Tokyo. Because of this, we hope to very soon become a node within that very important scientific chain that encourages research" said Alberto Bejarano, General Academic Director at Universidad de Ingeniería & Tecnología (UTEC).
