UTEC shared with high schools results of academic year 2013

As closure for the 2013 academic year, authorities of our university shared a corporate breakfast with representatives of schools in Lima to summarize our 2013 achievements and present our plans for 2014.At the ceremony, Juan Incháustegui, Member of the Board of Directors, highlighted the start of construction of the new university campus, considered as one of the most modern in Latin America. "Our goal is to have our students start the first academic period of 2015 at the new campus of Barranco. The infrastructure will cover everything necessary to train young engineers to carry their ingenuity into practice, hand in hand with research and development of technological solutions, committed to social needs and sustainability," he stated.Roque Benavides, CEO of Compañía de Minas Buenaventura S.A.A. and Member of the Board, stressed the importance of education for development and growth. "I firmly believe that investing on education is one of the best decisions we can take, because it helps both the development of a person, as well as the progress of a country. UTEC's proposal is innovative and is training the expert engineers we need in Peru," he said.Our Academic Director, Alberto Bejarano, highlighted some of our key achievements during the year, including some institutional agreements that seek to develop academic excellence in our students, such as the agreement with the Fulbright Commission, which allows to develop educational exchange programs, the agreement with Purdue University, which will provide the opportunity for students to graduate with a joint degree, the acquisition of modern NAO robots for programming courses, and the development of UTEC's First Annual Conference on Sustainable Development.The meeting ended with a presentation of second year undergraduate Industrial Engineering students, who, with the assistance and programming of NAO Robots (acquired this year by the university), exposed some of their acquired knowledge and presented some of their ongoing academic projects.​​
