UTEC Ventures is acknowledged by Startup Peru

Continuing with the successes of our business accelerator, UTEC Ventures was publicly recognized for being among four business incubators with projects approved within the contextual framework of Startup Peru.UTEC Ventures won financing in the amount of 680,000 soles to strengthen technical and management capacities and to provide technical assistance and mentoring to some of the 23 selected venture projects from the first generation of Startup Peru. This privilege was shared with three other business accelerators.This acknowledgment took place on August 26th as part of a ceremony organized at the Puericultorio Pérez Araníbar.  Representing Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología were Alberto Bejarano, General Academic Director and Gonzalo Villarán, Director of UTEC Ventures, who received the award for this initiative which guarantees financing for these projects up to an amount of 137,000 Nuevos Soles to implement or improve their business proposals.This first edition of Startup Perú receives financing in the amount of almost four million Soles through Fondo la Innovación, Ciencia y Tecnología (FINCyT). In the words of Piero Ghezzi, Minister of Production who inaugurated the event: “Startup Peru is the first public program that supports Peruvian creativity, granting funds that reward companies who make a commitment to innovation.  The national government must promote innovation, as it is difficult to take the risk to innovate.  However, it is clearly a path to success”.
