My study abroad in Perú at UTEC

Time flies and so I find myself already in the ending of this outstanding semester abroad here in Lima. I am grateful to be given the opportunity to study at UTEC where lasting moments with new friends are guaranteed.

People often ask me why I chose Perú for my interchange and in particular UTEC, because all an average European knows about Perú is, if any, that somehow Machu Picchu is located here and the existence of the word “Inca”.
However, I see Perú as a rich country in many ways. First up all I see a high potential in education and industry. Furthermore, and what I enjoy most about this country, are the possibility to study at UTEC, learn Spanish, the Peruvian food and the constantly perfect conditions to surf. Besides the variety and beauty of its landscapes and the historical Peruvian culture, which brings tourism, this country also has a big amount of natural resources.
So we are right here at UTEC, on the pulse of the times to be part of this economic upturn. UTEC is a place that really allows you to live engineering and satisfies your curiosity and this is essential!

Before I dived into the world of technics my grades in mathematics and physics were horrible, because I had no idea what to use it for and how mighty it would be. But that does not matter, because during my apprenticeship in automobile mechatronic engineering I got more and more curious and therefore motivated to know how everything works. And that is the key to advancement. Finally the mathematical model to describe our physical world helped me to a deeper understanding. To realize, that everything is calculable and predictable what gives us engineers the power to determine the future. To create things, to see them move, to know that you can help people to ease their life and all you need to get started is a piece of paper and a pen, that is what I love about engineering. Engineering is logical, creative and emotional.
