CTPL is the second Creative Industries Laboratory Prototyping workshop which, like in April 2014, assembled professionals and entrepreneurs for 4 days to recreate different innovative techniques and or technologies to find solutions for learning and education in our country. #CTPL2015From May 22nd a very rewarding and intense multi-disciplinary effort began on the platform for innovation at UTEC Barranco campus, together with experts who arrived from (MIT) Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston (Liam Andrew, Chelsea Barabas, Heather Craig, Suruchi Dumpawar, Sean Flynn, Desi González y Chris Peterson), a renowned North American university with which we have an important agreement, and other entrepreneurs from Peru who were eager to think about what type of solutions they could implement in a country with such harsh realities in matters of education. In recent years a dynamic has been emerging that has been seeking a change of destiny. What is #CTPL2015?These are workshops which seek to create concepts and prototypes that can be implemented on a large scale to improve the quality of education and the experiences of educators and students throughout the country. Put in another way, this means imagining creative solutions for education and informal learning equally. #CTPL2015 seeks to design a more intelligent future with respect to learning in Peru. Over these past four days, the objectives were to develop innovative tools and content to address the challenges of learning and education. Sharing knowledge and strategies that local participants can implement with their own work and make a connection with those with similar interests and with the global networks of professionals. Finally, the idea is to lay the groundwork for an academic technological community headquartered in Lima. 4 days, 3 stepsWhat took place during these four days? Kick starting design: follow the process of concept design, its execution and the identification of the target users of the learning solution to employ, which leads to the research in education. Prototyping: during this stage, they discussed the quickest ways to prototype an idea, including sketch design, paper prototyping and wireframing, in addition to the use of tools to put the wireframes online. It includes the draft and narration of the project. Groups were formed where the participants listened to lightning talks about innovative projects in the sector. Multi-disciplinary teams assembled educators, teachers, professors of higher education and human resources, extracurricular teachers, librarians, museum workers, and defenders of information learning, students, programmers, builders, designers and artists, entrepreneurs, narrators and communicators. All of these group members began to develop projects. Then in groups these teams continued refining project concepts and building prototypes. Then each of the group participants tested their projects with potential users and made relevant improvements. Finally, as recently as Monday, May 25th, the teams have publically presented their projects. And then?As part of the workshop, participants will be invited to form a network of academic technology professionals to share and exchange more experiences, challenges and information, in addition to giving each other mutual support in providing visibility to their projects. The facilitators and partners who also contribute their support will continue to be available on this network for additional questions and support for the projects.
