President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director of Southern Copper Corporation, a company with mining operations in Mexico and Peru in addition to exploration work in different countries of South America. Chief Executive Officer and Director at Asarco LLC (integrated copper producer in the United States). Director of Grupo Mexico since 2002. Previously, General Director of Mexicana de Cobre, SA de C.V. and Buenavista del Cobre, S.A. de C.V. Civil Engineer with a degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Mexico. Past President of the American Institute of Mining Engineers (AIME) in Tucson, Arizona (the first representative of a Mexican mining company to be elected in this position). Director of other companies and business associations, as well as charities in Peru.
